1. Introduction
Imagine walking through freshly fallen snow at the Mercure Les Arcs 1800 Hotel in the French Alps. Your footprints leave a trace, revealing details like the type of shoes you wore, the direction you took, and the time you passed by. Similarly, browsing the internet leaves behind digital traces. While these traces don’t directly identify you, they provide clues about your device configuration, region, preferred language, interests, and more.
We operate websites that track your browsing behavior and the traces you leave when booking stays at any of our 5,100 hotels worldwide. Our responsibility, and the purpose of this document, is to:
-
Inform you about the traces that exist;
-
Explain how we use this information;
-
Describe how you can manage or delete these traces.
2. What Are Tracers?
Cookies are the most common form of tracers. Tracers are data used by servers to send information to a web browser or mobile application, which then returns information to the original server. This information can include session identifiers, language preferences, expiration dates, response fields, etc.
While active, tracers store information when a user accesses various pages of a website or mobile application or when the user returns to the site or app later.
On the internet, there are different types of tracers:
-
Session tracers: Deleted as soon as you exit the browser or website;
-
Persistent tracers: Remain on your device until they expire or until you delete them via your browser settings.
On our websites, we use cookies set by us, known as “first-party cookies,” and cookies from domains different from the website you’re visiting, known as “third-party cookies.”
3. Our Use of Tracers
On our ALL, hotelF1, ibis, Pullman, Novotel, Mercure, MGallery, Sofitel, Business Travel, Meetings, Travelpros, Restaurants, and Apartments & Villas websites, we use cookies and other tracers for various purposes, including:

-
Enhancing your user experience;
-
Analyzing website traffic and usage patterns;
-
Providing personalized content and advertisements;
-
Facilitating social media interactions.
Among the cookies mentioned are those used by Google Analytics, such as _ga, _gid, and _gat, which were widely used for traffic analysis and user behavior tracking.
Please note that these cookies were associated with Universal Analytics, a version that was sunset on July 1, 2024. For current analytics implementations, please refer to Google Analytics 4.
For a detailed list of the cookies and tracers we use, please refer to the table of parameters (link available at the end of this document).
4. Accepting, Refusing, or Deleting Tracers

For our websites, you can manage your consent or refusal to use tracers on your device by clicking on the “Cookie Settings” button available on our sites.
Regardless of your choices, your browser also allows you to delete tracers from your device at any time. The steps for managing and deleting tracers vary by browser. These steps are described in the help menu of your browser. Remember to configure all browsers on your different devices (tablets, smartphones, computers, etc.).
